Revlon PhotoReady Review

As said before, I wanted to do a review on foundations. Recently, I picked up PhotoReady liquid foundation from Revlon. I've given it a few weeks trial before I review it, but to put the point across, I hate it!

I like a light coverage, this foundation is very much a medium to full coverage. But even the coverage I could deal with if I was going out for the night or something. It's the drying consistency of the foundation that I hate! I've tried to combat this with applying a lot of moisturizer, but this just means it applies normally, and then dries my skin out quickly and ends up simply sitting on my face, and leads to it becoming flaky looking. What is more bizarre is my skin isn't particularly dry to begin with. It has great staying power, unfortunately, as it looks awful on my skin.

It's an oil-free foundation with a lot of coverage, so it's probably better for people with greasy skin and who may want to cover more blemishes. But, I definitely won't be buying this product again!

Tooth Whitening - White Kiss Flash Review

Hey everyone! I think I mentioned before that I was going to whiten my teeth after I got my braces off. I do intend on going to the dentist's to do it, but I wanted to see some results in the meantime. I really wanted to try the Crest 3D Whitestrips, but unfortunately they're not available in Ireland, so I searched for an alternative.

First off, let me say how crazy difficult it is to find teeth whitening products over here! However I finally found some, on the bottom shelf in a corner in a pharmacy near where I work, I saw this White Kiss mouthguard whitening kit for €20 or something ridiculously cheap like that and thought I'd try them out. Apparently they're meant to be non abrasive and restorative of the enamel. I don't know if that's true, but I like to think positively!

You're provided with  mouthguards, which you have to mold to the shape of your teeth (the process takes all of five minutes). Then you brush your teeth with the special toothpaste supplied, and finally apply the whitening gel to the mouthguard, put the mouthguards on and leave in for an hour.

Just took the mouthguards off and I'm quite happy with the results! My teeth are certainly not blindingly white, but are definitely whiter. There's loads of gel left in the tube and another tube of gel not used yet, so I imagine I'll need a couple more tries before they get as white as I would like my teeth to be.

I have never tried Crest Whitestrips, but as I've got nothing else to compare this to, I'm pretty happy with the result, considering it's only one hour! I also haven't experienced any pain or anything so far. I'll post another photo soon as a little update. I think I'd buy this product again, but if you're looking for instant results I recommend going with another product.

L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream Review

BB creams are big news at the moment, for those who aren't sure what BB cream is - they're meant to be a hybrid of SPF, makeup and moisturizer. They're essentially a tinted moisturizer.

Last week while I was browsing in Boots, I came across this and thought I'd try it out. According to the label the BB cream, or Bare Skin Beautifier "Mimics the texture & glow of perfect bare skin". I love light coverage so I was really excited to try this out. Overall I'm happy with this product, it gives me a bit of even tone without heavy coverage, I purely wear makeup for the colour and not the cover. The result is a beautiful, subtle finish and it looks like it's your own skin.

The bottle is pretty small for the price you pay for the product, about €14. I don't know how long this is going to last me for, but with the bottle's small size, I have my doubts.

It applies as a greyish/pearly colour with purple specks in it. It's very liquidy and not as thick as I expected it to be. Don't let the initial colour of it put you off, if changes to blend with your skin as you rub it in.

It applies with a soft finish at the end. Unfortunately, my camera isn't that great and didn't pick up the lighting correctly, but it gives a subtle amount of colour and a gentle finish, which I love.

I'm somewhat sallow so I got the medium skin tone, which suits me fine. A drawback to it is that it only comes in light and medium skin tones, and does not offer a shade for darker skin tones which seems pretty unfair to me.

Allegedly the BB cream is supposed to last 24hrs, which I don't agree with, while it did last me all day, it was gone after about 12 hours, but because it's so natural it's not obvious it's gone. The cream can feel quite rough when you apply it, the beads in it feel like they're scratching at your skin, which passes almost instantly. I didn't find it particularly hydrating as the product claimed it to be, but it certainly didn't dry my skin out. Other than that, I really like the results and I'll probably buy it again.

I'll be doing a few more foundation reviews soon!

Much love
